"Billie read this book to me in two sittings. She learned some new words reading it, but the writing is pretty bland in my opinion, and very shallow when it comes to any depth of emotion or real personality in the characters. She enjoyed it enough, mostly because of the possibility of a creepy mummy emerging, but never really talked about it afterward. She will usually refer back to books again and again if she really likes them. This was probably not one of her favorites, nor mine, but it does provide simple reading for young readers."
"HTis is a fun and easy book to read. There is alot of parts when you think that something bad is gooding bad is going bad is going to happen. It is a mistery when they're in a very tight area and you just want to know what is going is going to happen. So I am saying readthins book you will have lots of question and the book will anwser them."
"10/21/09 Kinda fun to fill in the missing details of these little books. They are such quick readers! Annabelle is LOVING them! I like the discussion they bring. Mummies or Mommies? What is a Mummy? Are they real? What is a pyramid? They're in Egypt? Egypt is in the scriptures. Very fun! What is a hieroglyph? Anyway. It's a fun way to expose Annabelle to history. Like I said, she's really enjoying these quick reads. So, after reading this one today, we went on to read... #4..."
"I just love these books. "My" 7 year old is up to book 27, so I have a lot of catching up to do. He's having so much fun, he has no idea that each book is a social studies lesson. And they're fun for grown-ups too. I was disappointed it was over so fast. I've always loved combining learning with adventure stories, best entertainment there is. Not that anyone out of their tweens would read this without child-prompting; definately for the younger set, but more fun than most for the adults in their lives.
In case it isn't obvious from the title, the kids go to Egypt. Not too scary unless your youngster is afraid of the dark. I hope the kids learn to take a flashlight next time. I'm quite curious about the mysterious M. Looking forward to book 4."
