"Wowza!!! I bought it just for the title - thought it would look super cool on my shelf - never thought I'd read it and certainly not enjoy it. Breathtaking descriptions of India. Corbett hunted man eating tigers in imperial India and these are some of his adventures. It's full of suspense and tons of action. His portrayal of the natives is respectful and honest. The story of the father searching the jungle at night for his lost son, alone and unarmed, is heartbreaking. The book is weirdly informative. Did you know you can tell the age, sex and health of a tiger from its pug (paw print)? I do now. This guy spent weeks alone in the jungle, hunting maneaters, sleeping in trees and living off the land. Corbett actually debates the morality of killing a maneater in its sleep. Need more!"
"Read this while still at school and loved it. It was a fascinating dip into a world that has maybe long since vanished and that i still remember it with such fondness say much for its effect."
