"I read this book when I was younger so the "surprises" of the book were not so suprising. I have read quite a few of Johanna Lindsey's books and, although this is the first book to a great series, it is definitely not her strongest work. For this reason, knowing there are better novels of hers, I gave it two stars instead of three.
Otherwise, an enjoyable read and I breezed through it rather quickly. I like trying to figure out the "got-yah" that Lindsey always puts in her books. She really enjoys giving a hint of what will later cause much confusion. Looking forward to revisiting more of her novels."
"This is the first book in the "Malory Family Series" each on has it own unique characters and brings back the characters from the books that preseeded it. I love the malory's especially Tony from the second book and James from the third. I always hope that she will continue with this line of books because each on is like seeing old friend. She is now up to doing the children of the Original characters from the first five books. I highly recommend these books."
"No matter how much I may enjoy an author, I just can't stomach a plot where the kind, loving heoine is used, abused and treated absolutely abominably (flaunting other mistresses in her presence, abandoned on his doorstep on their wedding night etc.) by the hero(?)throughout the entire book as this one does. The biggest insult, however, was after an entire book of this behavior, the hero comes into ravish the heroine after a night of drinking, after which both are happy. UGH! The book rated 2 stars only because the author did a good job of keeping me turning the pages."
