"I found this story interessent in as much as it puts the strengh but also the pain of the protagonist . His interior monologue composes the narrative and we see a boy torn between the need to please his captors and his determination not to play along with what he see as a corrupt system. I could understand the freedom which Colin found in running because it reminds me of my own running that I did this summer . I had a physical programm to do and I ran I felt effectively free indeed . I mean I was not grateful to run but I did it because it brought me a certain freedom and I believe that Colin speaks about the same kind of freedom . I find this story full of life , it makes us think and that's why I like it ."
"A strong collection of short stories from the darker side of Nottingham, England full of the depression and the humor of working class blokes and their birds ... do you remember Teddy Boys?"
"The title story is devistatingly wonderful. The rest of the stories in this collection are great too but I cannot think of what they are now. I should have written up this book when I read it but I forgot."
