"I ordered this book for my grandaughter. I first read it when I was a teen ager and vacationed near the Catskills. Now she is that same age and has similar ties to the area.
Over the years, as I beame acquainted with the many places described in the book. I kept going back to the library to take it out to reread many times.
It is a haunting book that takes me back to the New York State that I knew years ago. Friends are amazed that I know so many interesting legends and historic details. This book started a life long fascination with local history that is with me to this day. I have read many other similar accounts, but I always go back to "Listen fo a Lonesome Drum".
The copy that I bought for my granddaughter is still in my bookcase. I ordered another one for her."
