About this title: Two of Kelly's most enticing Regency romances are available together for the first time. In "Libby's London Merchant", Elizabeth Ames knows nothing about Benedict Nesbitt, but soon realizes he is more than he seems. And in "Miss Chartley's Guided Tour", Omega Chartley vows to never love again after being left at the altar--until fate brings her ex-fianc back into her life.

"I love romances, and I just joined the "Clean Romances" group here on Goodreads. All these romances I've just added are previous reads that I was reminded of while browsing thru suggestions in that group. If there's a genre you're interested in, you can probably find a group for it and find recommendations there. This site has become my new favorite "time-waster." Thanks to all of you who are participating! Hope you're having fun!"
"Libby's London Merchant I've never read a romance novel before that has all the usual constructs of a romance novel except that you don't know which male the hero is. It kept me guessing, and at the end I did believe the answer and was invested in the couple. Libby and both men have endearing flaws, not annoying upsetting ones like many romance characters, and the whole story felt more real than many many others I have read.
Miss Chartley's Guided Tour This story is over the top and melodramatic, but it felt more like a loving homage to the silly period romance novels I have read than the author floundering into those same mistakes. The children weren't the annoying cute little imps that children in these books usually are, and I loved the character of Hugh.
I wish my library had more books by Carla Kelly, as it is I will mostly have to keep an eye out in used bookstores (or maybe break down and ILL them)"
"I continue to like that Kelly's romances don't use the stupid complications that I find so annoying in many romances. Unfortunately I felt I needed to keep a towel handy for all the tears and rain that fell in this book. Did any of the main characters (other than Eustace and Lydia, who are too shallow) not cry?
Anyway, as to be expected, men and women meet, fall in love, sometimes learn they don't suit and sometimes learn they do, and all comes out well in the end."
