I like Christopher Moore. I like how it feels like he's talking to you instead of just writing a story.
I don't feel that this book ever compromises Christ's goodness; I like that it keeps Him clean and pure.
I also like that His best friend is good, but not so holy. And he was very funny.
I don't feel that this book oversteps any lines. I like the unique take.
The truth is people like familiar things, so I feel that someone who actually read the Bible/New Testament would like this book/get more of it than someone who hadn't read it.

"This is my second Moore novel,the first being A Dirty Job; Lamb, in my opinion, is the better book. Moore takes on the life of Christ, a sensitive topic to be sure. If you cannot stomach humour in a Christ story, then stay away; stay far away. But I'll add, as Moore states, if something like this causes a shaking of your faith, you've got larger issues to deal with. For those who aren't afraid of Moore's take on the Christian story, prepare yourself for a novel of irrevent humour (high and low) and unexpected (if you're new to Moore)poignancy. As with ADJ, Moore takes a decidedly dour subject and infuses it with laughter through tears; in the process, what is once unimaginable becomes all too real.
