""Kiss the Girls" was one of the best books I have read!
Detective Alex Cross is searching for his missing neice, Naomi, who has been kidnapped by a killer known as Casanova. Cross enlists the help of one of Casanova's only known living victims, a medical intern named Kate, who escaped and the killer is now hunting.
The plot in this book was fantastic, not to mention the mystery, suspense, and the characters themselves. A must read for all James Patterson fans, and fans of mystery, intrigue, and great storytelling!"
"Seriously, I am the only person who does NOT like Patterson's writing. His writing is so simplistic and dull. What's with the italics on random words? I'm sorry, but I find Alex Cross to be a very unbelievable hero. He has no faults, is highly intelligent and handsome and horrible things always happen to him. Possible, yes. Believable, no!
Kiss the Girls is an ok book, but overall I didn't enjoy it. I find Patterson's writing style to be very dry and boring. They did turn this into a good movie, though. So skip the book and rent the movie. It is a much more satisfying experience."
"James Patterson- Kiss the Girls (Warner Books 1997) 4.75 Stars
Alex Cross returns when his niece, Naomi Cross, goes missing and a serial rapist/murderer is on the loose. He quickly discovers that there is not just one rapist/murderer on the loose, but two. When one of the captive girls escapes to tell her story, Alex Cross hits his big break in the case. When a reporter covering the story of one of the two killers, it becomes obvious that the two killers are competing and Alex Cross is in the middle of their path. Kiss the Girls was a creepy and intense read. I enjoyed this novel immensely and it managed to hold my attention all the way through. Patterson has an eerily good plot that has many unexpected twists and turns throughout it. The storyline flows with a flawless fluidity. I love Alex Cross as a main character. He is smart, strong, and will not be corrupted; he will find justice no matter what the cost. Patterson introduces the reader to many characters throughout the book and gives enough background information to assist the reader in understanding the characters. My only complaint for this book is one that is so minor that it really does not bother some people; in fact I have been told that some people really like it. That being said, I do not like it, but I can easily get past it. This detail is the shortness of the chapters, two pages is not a chapter to me, short chapters is just a way to stretch out your book and make it seem longer than it really is. Overall I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves mysteries, thrillers, or nail biters.
