"I think anybody who considers having a carrier in physics in his future life, should have some taste of QFT. This book, has been one of the most popular texts in the field. Nevertheless, I do not recommend it to beginners, unless to somebody with really masochistic temper for the subject. Reading this book has been a mixture of pain and joy to me, as I am sure many others have had the same feelings through this experience. And a note of caution: I don't think one can gain all he needs about QFT from this single volume. There are many other good texts from which one can benefit, like books written by Weinberg, Bjorken & Drell, Siegel, and some simpler ones like those by Mandl & Schaw and J.J. Sakurai."
