"To be fair, I don't know much (ok, I don't know anything) about Indonesian food, except for what little I observed on one trip to an Indonesian restaurant.
Older American-produced "ethnic" cookbooks often seem weirdly makeshift and Westernized. This one doesn't appear to resort to Western packaged foods and does require the user to look for some specialty items and South Asian grocery stores, which is probably a good sign.
Nevertheless, it appears to be a very manageable cookbook. If somebody who knows what s/he is talking about can vouch for its authenticity, I'll add stars to my review."
