About this title: As long as I can remember I have always been fond of good food and have always taken an interest in cooking. I believed that my interest in cooking began when I was a little girl and lived with my grandmother in Baku, Russia. Grandmother, who was an extraordinary woman for her time, was a tall, strong, and very handsome lady. In her deep-set black eyes on could see the kindness, generosity, and hospitality for which the Persians have always been famous.

"Persian cooking is highly underrated. I have been fortunate enough to watch two Persian women cook and eat the fruits of their labor. Delicious! This cookbook seems to closely resemble the way they cooked. However, I doubt I would have been able to replicate their efforts simply from reading this book as there is little precedence from which to measure my dishes. Nonetheless, if you are interested in experiencing something different in the culinary world I highly recommend noshing on some Persian cuisine. Eggplants, pomegranates, rice, saffron, yum!"
