"As a British reader , I was looking for a book which could give me a general guide as to what makes one gun designer good and another great. This book certainly fills in a lot of gaps which the normal run-of-the-mill gun book does'nt bother with ; because its so trivial. The only limiting factor is that the book only covers American gunmakers. The Europeans don't seem to have the same national pride to write a European equivalent. The section which deals with some of the smaller names in guns reveals a lot of technical information which simply does'nt appear in European books."
