"An interesting look into the workings of Professional Wrestling. There isn't much 'acting' in the act. Mick Foley played a role that started the redirection of the WWF toward the WWE. This book also headed the book writting stampede of other professional wrestlers, of which I have never read, but I'm guessing are not nearly as well written. Followers are usually not as good as the first leaders."
"Being a wrestling fan when I was younger, Mick Foley was one of my favorites -- so I was very excited when I found out his story was being written. I have read other autobiographies before and have always been disappointed by them because they did not feel or sound like the subject was writing them -- they seemed too formal to be "real" or genuine to me. I am very happy that Mick decided to write his story himself instead of using a ghost writer! He has a very unique voice and is able to tell a story very well! I liken reading his book to sitting down with him and having a long conversation about his life, just swapping stories with an old friend! He is definitely someone that I would want to meet in person and have a good, long talk with."
"I have fond feelings for this book...it takes the reader on a journey through the much maligned world of professional wrestling. Each word shocks and stuns like a body-slam on barbed-wire or a flying elbow off the top rope. I have never wrestled professionally (at least not in this country), but i now have a greater respect for those who do. KC is embarassed that this book is on my bookshelf!"
"Excellent book! I read this way back when I was hardcore into wrestling, and this book is a must for any wrestling fan. Foley actually does a great job writing about his career in, most arguably, the strangest show on Earth. I met Mick Foley years after reading this book, got to talk to him a bit, and he signed my copy, so I have another reason for loving this book."
