"I thought this book was a fascinating look into the history of the Cathars, a group of Gnostic Christians in France, who were to be the cause for the creation of the Inquisition.
This peaceful, but unorthodox, group was relentlessly persecuted by St. Dominic, the original Grand Inquisitor, and their members sent to the flames.
I read the book eagerly, and then got to the end ... When I realized the author claimed that much of his information came from the "renevants" of the Cathars ... Spirits of dead Cathars.
Needless to say I'd felt like I'd been wanked, but it was a good read so I guess you could call it a "happy ending.""
