"this is truly the best book i have ever read. about a boy who lives in egypt with his evil half brother who beats him and takes his money every day. then he finds friends an old man and a boy named heqet.he finds his brother is steling and finds a golden goblet in his room."
"this is the worst book ever!!:( all ranofer does is complain. " My father died, i have to live with my evil half brother." all i hear is bla bla bla. get a life ranofer!!!"
"I read this before having one of my daughters read it. It gave me a new perspective on slavery and cast systems. The main character, Ranofer, was obviously beaten by his adult half brother, yet no one would do anything about it! I am grateful that our society does not tolerate such behavior. Sadly though, it still exists in our world.
Although the book does show what life may have been like in Ancient Egypt, I do not think Ranofer is a usual boy. Youth might enjoy the mystery and suspense."
