I grabbed this as a freebie having never read this author before. I didn't have very high hopes because I thought the cover was a little cheesy. I was pleasantly surprised. The book was very well written, and the plot was different enough to keep me interested. The villain was very creepy and twisted, but the author was able to give descriptions and plant ideas in the imagination without graphically gory details. The romance also had plenty of sexual tension but with a very capable heroine and without having to rely on excessively graphic sex scenes to make up for lack of plot. I really enjoyed it and will read more of this author.

This is a work of art. I loved this book and it's message and the love story. Two thumbs up. If I had more thumbs I'd give it more thumbs up.

You'll adore it

This book is truly well written, every part is interesting and intriguing! If you're like me, you don't always read a whole book in one sitting. So, in my case, I found myself wondering what the charaters were doing when I wasn't able to be reading. That's how real and enjoyable the book is! I hope you buy it and enjoy it as much as I did. I can't wait for the next one!

This book was written for me, I swear. I just finished it after 3 days of neglecting everything else in my life, and thought, "Finally, the powers that be created a story teller who is capable of writing pages in which every single word is completely to my tastes." The history and the theories behind politics, religion, socio-economics...well I'm a complete sucker for all of that and Hodges played them perfectly. He wove together several different theories and myths that many people wouldn't associate but it's incredibly believable and makes you want to put your thinking cap on and theorize right along with him. The science-fiction portions of the book were incredibly understandable and seemingly accurate. Whether you're a geek or have never watched or read anything "sciency" you'll understand it and it will fascinate you. The writing style is so swift and yet easy going at the same time. The book moves you right along, yet everything is well explained. There are some funny one-liners in it...just the right amount so that they do read as funny instead of cheesy. The action scenes are actually imaginable, like a little movie in my head (and I swear this book will be a huge movie someday) unlike so many other action books. And there is just the teeny tiniest dash of romance thrown in there so your heart smiles for a mere second but you are not in danger of gagging. So the book was excellent, I absolutely can't wait for the next one, and I will 100% recommend it to everyone!!

I honestly thought this book would be boring when my friend recommended it to me but I was pleasantly surprised from the start to finish. This was a great book...multidimensional and imaginative.
