"Sharon is a horrible friend. She convinces Andrew to make a horrible concoction that is sure to give him freckles. Andrew believes in her so much but when he doesn't have freckles he draws them on his face with a blue marker. This book is a classic tale of how kids play tricks on each other."

"10/15/09 Annabelle and I read this today. She thought the freckle juice would really give Andrew freckles. I think it intrigued her. But she did find it slightly funny that he colored them on himself.

I also read this as a kid. I thought it was okay then, and I still think it's alright."

"Every time I read this book I adore children for their vulnerability and naiveté. I forgot how short this book is (about 40 pages with illustrations) it seemed longer when I was younger. Always fun to read."

"Delightful story. Judy Blume's writing is perfect: witty, well-paced, amusing, and touching. This book is a great tool to teach kids to accept themselves as they are, without bowing to others who would put them down. I couldn't contain my excitement when my son traded another book for a hardcover "Freckle Juice" - I was 33 years old and giddy to have a copy in our family! Fantastic favorite from childhood; another Blume classic."
