Items such as a page of J. Robert Oppenheimer's notes on nuclear reactions, a label from a bottle of patent medicine, and a "Pogo" comic strip attacking Senator Joseph McCarthy are included, along with text by the distinguished historian Alan Brinkley describing the development of the American nation.
