"I am just beginning this book, but this is a good example of writing I hate: "Rather than presenting an other-worldly discipline borrowed from the cultures of the East, I have created a down-to-earth, practical application for contemporary victims of Western civilization" (Preface, pg. ix).
While I may not argue with the idea that one can be a "victim of Western civilization,' it hardly seems rational to demonize one and idealize another.

Great information on the different Chakras and the things to look for to help you assess whether someone is excessive or deficient in that Chakra, so that you can assist in healing someone. I rated the book a 4, only because there is a lot of information in it, and quite technical in places. However it is definitely a fantastic resource to have. I think it is one of those books you would need to read several times to enable you to absorb all the information."
