"I really love this book and especially the head and figure drawing book by the same author. I love how this book starts off by teaching you some really useful things about composition. Thats certainly an area I needed help in. This book has a great flow and the author gets into drawing different elements that go into making a scenery interesting. I actually bought this book because I know how to draw people, vehicles and other things but I always found myself confused as to what to put in the background. I am still reading this book but I find that I am already improving and I feel like my money was well spent. Also, one thing I should tell you. When I was searching for different books on drawing the landscape, figure and animals I discovered that in each of those categories this author's books seemed most thorough yet to the point (by looking at the table of contents and reading reviews). I mean I have books written by great artists like burne hogarth and some other artists and they are great books but those books teach you only some aspects on the subject matter they are covering, not everything. Also, I find most books on general drawing , landscape and especially on human figure tend to be very show and tell and sometimes more dense than they need to be and in doing so leave out some basic stuff. However, this author covers things very thoroughly yet in a very simplified way. If I could buy just one book on this subject i'd definitely buy this one."
"An instructional book on drawing landscapes. It covers alot of the basics of good composition and gives nice tips on how to draw different objects with a regular pencil and paper.
"Excellent book. Not only good techniques for drawing what you see, but also teaches you how to create mountains, trees, rocks, etc that don't look contrived. And the best part is the simple, but very effective lessons on composition. They are worth the price alone. Hurray for opposable thumbs!!"
