"This book was in great condition considering it's age. It is out of print, but a great resource in D&C study. Other more current resource books quote Smith and Sjodahl extensively and I wanted to see the source of the quotes."
"I have had this book for several years and it has been a valuable tool in studying the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, commonly called "Mormons." I would recommend this book to Mormons who are well read in the Gospel because of the clarity and simplicity in which it is written. It gives dates, places and circumstances regarding revelations received by the Prophet, Joseph Smith, Jr. The historical notes are accurate and important in understanding the Gospel and its restoration. The writing is to the point. The notes follow the text at intervals. This may bother some people who prefer to read notes at the end of chapters but I like reading the notes as I am reading the revelation.
It is also a good book for those who are not members of the LDS Church because of the historical data and because it accurately describes LDS beliefs. Of course, taken by itself, without other books, such as the Holy Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the Pearl of Great Price. it would not really give a full account of LDS beliefs.
The writing is easy to read and conversational rather than pontifical. Too many religious books become rather boring and difficult because they are weighed down by writers trying to sound solemn and deep. This book is as applicable today as the day it was published in 1967."
