"Watching the movie /The Hurt Locker/ put me in mind once again of this book (specifically a scene where the protagonist collapses in a shower after a particularly stressful day, a scene very similar to one in Dispatches). It's a book I've read several times and to which I plan to return, which is why I finally bought the (to my surprise) new Everyman's Library hardcover. There are not many books that inspire me to write, but this is one of them."
