Against All Odds tells the story of U.S. Senator Scott Brown and his path to winning the special election to fill the term of the late Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy. With very descriptive language and an informal and engaging style, Brown reveals his turbulent childhood, his love of basketball, his military experience with the National Guard, how he met his wife Gail, and his dramatic come from behind victory over Martha Coakley in January 2010. This autobiography is truly a cannot-put-it-down type of book with a useful lesson: Do not let adversity stop you. While readers may disagree politically with the author we can still admire his tenacity and grit. In sum, Against All Odds is a well-written and straightforward book with a pertinent message. Highly recommended.
