"10/16/09 I started it in my speed read class. When I first read the back I thought "This sounds so lame! A voyage of self discovery. Gag me." But when I started it the book was actually quite interesting. Espesially since it is a true story. We didn't ge to finish it and the library didn't have it so I ordered it form Borders. It sould be here by Tuesday."
"My mother, who was at that time earning her masters in social work, would bring all of her case studies and reading material home and I would basically run off with them. I was particularly fascinated with the stories of children (not much younger than myself) who at young ages faced and overcame so much adversity against all odds. This one however was probably my favorite."
"Gone are the days (for this semester at least) of pleasure reading, but thankfully my profs are assigning cool books! Dibs is a little boy who has some issues to say the least. And Virginia Axline, the author and awesome amazing play therapist helps him find his way out of his shell. An awesome quick read especially for those interested in working with tykes, but really for anyone. I love Dibs!"
"We started reading this in my speed reading class. The teacher let us take it home... I thought we were supposed to read it. I read it. When I went to the next class I realized that we were not supposed to read the whole thing. We were going to read this book during the entire class. I left. It was not very good the first time."
