"This book is the second in the Inspector Banks series...and it was a good one. I like the way Robinson writes...and if I wasn't already a fan of British mysteries, I would be, after reading his books.
There are multiple characters in the books and you get to know each of them quite well....their fears, their worries, their thoughts....with little clues interspersed here and there so you can almost rule someone out from being the killer...but not quite. The ending wasn't predicable, and yet it also wasn't a white rabbit pulled out of a hat as a total surprise that doesn't make sense.
"I'm open to reading more in this series, as I suspect they get better later on. But this one felt rather dated: set in the 80's, but it felt more like the 40's."
