"Considering that this book was written at the beginning of the 20th century, one might assure that is at least brave. The problem is sometimes it becomes something more like a scientific manifesto about why gays are allowed to breath etc. Influenced by the whole epistemologic world, Gide compares dogs, women, homosexuals, penguins, etcetera.
Sometimes it is rather amazing and encouraging for both readers and gays, in other times is just scientifcly old-fashioned dash boring.
