"Lots of old-fashioned gags and action, which I liked. Also, a lot of old-school racism in the portrayals of black or Native American characters, which I didn't."
"I hadn't read Tintin since I was fifteen. I understand now why I graduated from this to James Bond (although Bond's outrageous adventures and good fortune make a little more since given that he was a spy. A journalist like Tintin is a little more questionable). Fun, but completely politically incorrect. Fabulous as a time piece, though, and I was particularly amused by all the European stereotypes and misunderstandings in "Tintin in America," which I'm sure were also in the other two volumes, but I don't happen to be Egyptian or Chinese so can't speak to them as well."
"Excellent book. The three stories were long and well done by Herge, definitely always a joy to read Tintin! It brings back memories of my childhood when I discovered the world of Tintin to my great joy in my middle school library!"
"We're hooked on TinTin here, and have all the other local cousins reading or rereading TinTin, too. I have to admit to not being able to put the books down when I'm reading; they are very exciting."
