"It was interesting to see inside the director's mind a bit to see why she chose to create the movie the way she did. I wish it would have had more text. It was a collection of pictures with margin notes mostly. I did enjoy learning why certain people were cast for roles. It makes me want to see the movie again to see some details that were described in the book. I also want to see if I can notice the stunt doubles. The book is worth looking at but definitely not buying. (luckily I got it from the library)"
"If only every director did this!!! If you are interested in the behind the scenes making of a movie (why a shirt was picked, set locations, what's in the director's assistant's bag) this book is for you. Hardwicke kept a detailed journal, hand drawings and all, while making Twilight - from pre to post production. Regardless of how you feel about the movie the book is an amazing journey into the creative mind that brought the book to life."
"Sort of a guide book on making Twilight the movie. I'm interested in the whole process - wardrobe, location scouting, screenshots, auditions - and the book is filled with lush pictures of the creative processes, behind the scenes, and screen shots.
However, it does not say a lot about screenplays. Some stuffs in the book really do sound difficult to do, and it shows how much effort the teams are putting to make the movie. I look at the parts and feel how nicely they will fit into some scenes in the movie, unfortunately they do not always translate well on screen, as during the movie I cannot help but cringe at how bad some scenes are flowing, and how some stuffs turn out cheesy and forced.
Some parts in the book are not thorough enough, but I guess it's good enough to satisfy fans :)"
"I love Twilight, and I thought the movie was great. Now, I've really enjoyed going through Catherine Hardwicke's journal. She is so passionate about making the movie, correctly, and she put so much hard work into it.
First off, I absolutely love the drawings and the storyboard sketchings. They really gave me a new perspective on the behind-the-scenes of Twilight. The costume designs were awesome! I think they were my favorite part. I also really enjoyed reading about how they made the favorite scenes, how everything was placed, etc.
All in all, it was a quick read into the movie world of Twilight. I recommend it to others who share the same passion about Twilight.
