"This book was a little hard to get into, as it is written from the perspective of six different people. There is an excessive amount of character development, leading me to believe that with some editing the author could have turned this whole series into one tightly-written book. Instead, the secret is easy to guess and the story drags on with the same themes over and over. Since I already have the second book checked out from the library I'll give it a go and see if the plot picks up!"
"This is different from Lewis's other books. She explores new topics in family life instead of that of a young girl finding a husband. It is a refreshing change. Looking at how secrets affect the whole family and not just the one with the secret brings out how interelated we all are. I recommend it."
"Um, okay. The first in a series of books, and there is really no ending. You don't feel complete after reading this. I don't like it. Make one long book, not multiple small books. Or, make the book have an ending. Let the story continue but finish something in the book. Read this for a book challenge, Christian fiction. It talks a bit about praying to God to help you forgive, and the power of healing. The "God" stuff was not overwhelming. Mostly a story about people of a particular faith. I would read other B. Lewis books, but I probably wouldn't go buy one."
