"Love the recipes, exactly the right blend of interesting but not too esoteric. What I can't stand is Paula Deen's phony chatty Happy Cathy style. "Honey, even Brussels Sprouts get sexy when you know how to butter them up" But I do think the recipes are fantastic, so buy the book for the recipes and try to ignore the surrounding text."
"I think Paula Deen is so funny and genuine (unlike, say, Rachael Ray). While I don't find a lot of her recipes particularly appealing (my fear of condiments and dislike of many types of seafood keep me away from many of her faves), I still enjoyed flipping through the pages and bookmarking recipes I would like to make."
