About this title: A retelling of the familiar story of CINDERELLA, this time with a Halloween theme. For example, instead of a fairy godmother, this Cinderella is assisted by a witch and, rather than leaving her glass slipper at the ball, this decomposing Cinderella leaves behind her foot.

"The only reason this gets a horror tag is because every time I read it to kids at Halloween (and that is a lot of times) they cringe in horror when her foot comes off. Yikes!
That aside, this is a wonderfully Halloween style Cinderella story, and should be part of the collection of anyone who keeps up with the many versions of Cinderella.
David Catrow's illustrations are amazing, and bright, yet spooky. Perfect for the tale!!"
"Cinderella Skeleton is written in rhymes and based on "Halloween" themes. It is about a skeleton that goes to the Halloween ball and dances with the prince. While fleeing at dawn break, Cinderella's shoe falls off as well as her foot and ankle bone. The prince travels far and wide to find his princess with the exact size ankle bone. Once he finds her, they live happily ever after and the stepsisters turn to dust. I think this is approriate for older students to enjoy. It may still be somewhat disturbing depending on what their interests and knowledge is regarding skeletons."
