"Late night grocery shopping... found this book. Good book written by Bethenny Frankel (Martha Stewart Apprentice runner-up & Real Housewives of NYC-shows I don't watch). Lots of good tips that are somewhat old, but shared in a different light and therefore new. I really liked this book... I need to go back and re-read."
"This book was a major disappointment. I loved Bethenny and I still do. I just feel like she's trying to capitalize on her fame w/ the RHONY and getting "brand happy" with her product line advertising her baked goods and being braggadocious about her celebrity clientele. A major disappointment."
"Frankel gave specific pointers about how to eat like a skinny girl. Most of the ideas were sound. Her idea is to fill up on nutrient dense foods, but don't deprive yourself of "tastes" of other things. "Taste everything, eat nothing," is one of the rules. For some this may be a real problem, but if you are filled up on nutrient dense food, maybe not as hard. Other ideas are tips for downsizing and, as she says, "spoiling your appetite." The last part of the book was fluff, but the overall ideas were sound."
"I am embarrassed to add this to my list of books because I am afraid that it will make me seem like one of those ninny girls who never stops dieting. I do not think that I am a ninny; but I will admit that I've struggled with weight gain and its consequent worries ever since I started teaching. (Stress and lack of time leads me to gorge on chocolate which leads me to extra layers of fat.) I do not want to spend the rest of my life dieting or worrying about my weight, and I thought this book offered some practical ideas of how to eat healthy without being obsessed with being skinny. The whole premise of the book is that diets are stupid and ineffective, and anyone can learn to eat right while remaining sane.
The book had some good ideas but was somewhat repetitive in parts. I started skimming part way through, but I am glad that I read it, and I hope I will apply some of its ideas to my real life. (We'll see...)
As I know weight gain is a concern that lots of women face, if anyone wants to borrow it, let me know."
