"This book is just mostly for entertainment. But if you've already read the first two you already know this. When I finished I let out a sigh of gratitude. I finished! No more questions and no more wondering. This is probably why I usually like the last books of series better (I usually like the first and last books best).
The characters are still there growing strong. Clary is still impetuous but she is also still very caring. Jace tries to go above a beyond to protect her but he also has to fight his own demons (get it "demons", well at least I'm trying). Lucian stays the same for the most part; you see him work hard to make things right. Simon really evolves from his goofy persona to a more mature character but he is still a great funny character. Isabel and Alec seem to release more from their tightly compressed shadowhunter role. The mom finally comes up too and she is the one to answer all the questions. Valentine is still crazy.
After the second book you kind of get an inky how thing might turn out. About halfway though this book I figured it out so Clary's mom's explanation of whats what was not all that surprising. It usually doesn't bother me when a book is a somewhat predictable. I was relieved when Clary and Jace finally knew everything. They could finally stop talking about how much they wanted to but couldn't be together.
There isn't as much action as I thought there would be but it actually didn't bother me. Things are pretty interesting the whole way. There is a lot of love talk between Clary and Jace but which would be very sweet if it was told to me. I don't think people (especially guys) told about their feeling like Clary and Jace do. Ah well, I'll story read romance books and watch chick-flicks anyway.
City of Glass is, in my opinion, the best book of the series. It kept me in a good mood all day."

The family Penhallows are friends to the family Lightwoods for getting their sentence lightened, for being part of the Circle. Sebastian will be the one to lead Clary to Ragnor Fell. The only warlock able to help Jocelyn. However, Magnus Bane will intercept Clary, and send her after the Book of the White. The youngest Lightwood, Max sees someone climbing the Wards. Alicante is attacked by demons! Jace accepts that he has demon blood in him, and the brother and sister will learn what the Seelie Queen meant when she told them that Valentine did experiments on them, with their discovery of Ithuriel. The Shadowhunter’s only hope at defeating Valentine and his army of demons summoned with the Mortal Sword Maellartach is with the Downworlders joining their fight. Which is logically sound, until all groups, (werewolves, fey, warlocks, and vampires) demand a seat on the Council? Simon stands in the way of the vampire’s way of existing. The Seelie Queen will grant one favor. More shocking secrets are surfaced! Clary will reveal not only that she is Valentine’s daughter to the Clave, but also she will reveal her ability to the Clave to save them. In truth, I wonder if it is going to be enough in order to defeat Valentine, his demon army, and stop his summoning of Raziel, to gain the one favor that will change Nephilim."
"I had begun reading this laying down and drinking the words in steadily but before I knew it I was sitting on the edge of the sofa and forcing to keep up my eyes focused enough not to move too far ahead. I promised myself I wasn't going to write a spoiler review though I really wanted to. Without giving spoilers I can't stress how much a certain line did this or what took me by surprise but y'all are just going to have to read it to feel and see what I felt.
EVERYTHING is finally explained. Thank goodness! It was fun to guess along the way to see if you were right. Sometimes I was off and not entirely sure but part of the excitement is having the dawning relization of "Oh yeah!!! I can see that now!" Defintely is the best of the series and not only because of the plot and resolution, but because of the development of the characters. As far as I could see Clary grows the least but she does. She always was a little more "emotionally" in tune more than the others were. The character that makes HUGE strides is Jace. He started to grow on me in the second book but I absolutely get him now. There is this one line that he says (it's cheesy but who cares) that made me totally melt. *WARNING* if you don't like moments bordering on the cheesy side you may want to read something depressing instead. All the characters we have grown attached to have grown up to be a better version of themselves. One of the most impressive ones I'd say (other than Jace) is Isabelle, which is displayed well in the conversation she has with Clary in the kitchen.
This book is charged with all the elements we are used to but make them ten fold because this is the end. Emotions, battles, loss, betrayl, surprises, and even the jokes carry that much more meaning to them. Out of all the books this one would have to be the most serious. I know that there was always the element of sudden danger, but this one is more so and we don't get to see as many sacrastic comments (which is understandable) but there are still there to ease the tenison.
I want to gush and gush over everyting but I had to say Valentine seemed to fit into the series finally. I always felt he wasn't a villain material but he is, and I can't say why because again a spoiler. Best way to wrap up the series and say goodbye to the Shadowhunter world."
