"I always thought the author was MAUDE Grieve. Nonetheless, the book is available online at Henriette's Herbal website. There are plenty of copies around and it is a true classic. A lot of herbals written since are mere rewriting and plagiarism of this 2 volume set. It is very centered on the British Isles, but includes European, North American commonly used herbs. There are some African, Australian and Asian medicinal trees and herbs, but a very limited number. The common folk uses, measurements, parts and forms of plant used, and data on where the plant grows are well described. Also homeopathic uses are covered as well as magical. Worth keeping."
