"When I first started turning, I got this book out of the library & about wore it out. It is a very good primer for woodturning. It concentrates on the basics for both spindle & bowl, but seasoned wood only. He uses minimal tools, almost enough pictures & good, short description of methods. If you go through this book step by step a few times, you will have a good basic understanding of turning."
