"It's OK. It has some good, basic recipes for things like chili and spaghetti and meatballs, and then some slightly more exotic things like risotto and hummus.
It's rather meat/protein biased. There are some meat free dishes, but no special chapter for them. And for instance, vegetarian chili is tacked on as a variation to a ground meat-based chili. The instructions say to substitute soy granules for the meat. For goodness' sake, you don't NEED the extra protein in there.
I am going to try a couple of the recipes & will report back if I have anything further to say."
"I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but there's a few I will. But for a supposedly healthy cookbook, there were some awfully unhealthy recpies in there. There are a LOT of recipes that have 20g or more of fat (some upwards of 40g) per SERVING! The recpies are kind of annoying too in that every little thing is explained to the point where it seems like the authors think you're an idiot."
"I would actually give this 3.5 stars, but I haven't tried any of the recipes. They look and sound pretty good, but that doesn't necessarily make them edible. I like the nutritional advice the authors give, especially as it seems to be a little uncommon to find children's nutritional needs. I like that the authors feel that children should have exposure to lots of vegetables and that they don't necessarily need to be hidden for children to eat them. I also like that they included recipes for homemade baby food. If the recipes turn out well, this would probably be a book worth owning."
