"I thought that reading Noah from Jacquelyn Frank would be a good book since I like vampires. Ok this book was awful. I could not get passed the 6th chapter and Noah had no character whatsoever. I was even more put off that the book is 507 pages long and if I was in chapter 6 with no luck I did not want to continue reading this story. Sorry for any Frank fans but maybe this was just not her best book. I know they are a series and maybe I should have read the first one of the series before any. Oh well what a stinker."
"It took me much longer than normal to get into this book as it is someway down a series and I have not been able to get hold of the one before it. The author did a good job of giving the background but it took me a while to get into the 'lore' of yet another storyline. Once I got 'with it' I really enjoyed it and am now itching to read the others. My only concern was the ease in which the main female character moved from being very anti to being very compliant and not bothering to contact her previous life at all which seemed out of character. I suppose the plot had to keep moving."

She is grateful that he save her life, but she is not buying all those stuff about life mates and powers, so Kestra fight him with everything she's got.
But Noah doesn't give up that easily, so he has to convince her that they were meant to be together and he needs her and her newfound power to stop a threat that comes from the inside.
Noah by Jacquelyn Franks is the fifth novel in her Nightwalker series. Just like the previous novels I love the way Jacquelyn Frank mingles the different species together with danger and romance.
From the beginning of this series I was anxious to read King Noah's story, but it was not quite what I hoped for. Noah is a fire demon, one of the highest and strongest of their kind, but I didn't quite saw that in this novel. I love the fact that Noah did everything in his power to get to his mate and his determination to convince her that they belong together. I also love the fact that Noah accepted the punishment Bella gave him for using her little daughter in his game, even though he knew it would break his heart. I have to agree that Kestra was indeed the right woman for Noah, one who matches to him in strength, power and especially her stubbornness. She is a strong woman with a mind of her own and isn't afraid to say what is on her mind.
Together with the rest of the Nightwalkers they fight yet another threat to their kind, but I missed the biggest threat of all, which we saw from the beginning of this series. We all know Ruth is the traitor among the demon kind and she is determined to destroy Noah, but where was she in this novel. Especially because this novel should have been the last in this series and I was waiting for a confrontation between Noah and Ruth. The good news is that there will be another novel in this series and Jasmine is the leading lady, so hopefully the Ruth situation will be resolve then.
I believe the two strongest secondary characters where Jacob and his mate Bella. They both stole my heart from the beginning and in this novel Bella show herself to be the enforcer she is, but most of all the protected mother. The way she handle Noah after his little game, where he used her daughters powers to do the job really put a smile on my face.
Although this novel is not the best in this series I still am a huge fan of Jacquelyn Frank and her Nightwalkers. I'm looking forward to Jasmine's novel and I'm curious to see who will deal with Ruth and her followers."
Where to begin? I was so disappointed in this book. I liked 1/2 of it. Unfortunately, the half I liked was interrupted by a lot of garbage. In other words, I was forced to wade through a lot of irrelevant and insignificant details to get to the good parts throughout. There was no continuity to the pace of the story.
Perhaps I was under the misconception that these books were being written and published as a serial. My understanding going in was that Noah would be the final book in the Nightwalker series. If that's the case, then I feel cheated. Where was the resolution to so many of the conflicts and revelations between and about these characters? The previous books intimated that there would be a final showdown between the currently allied Nightwalkers and Ruth, Nico and their band of renegades. Ruth's name was barely mentioned in this book after she was written about, ad nauseum, in the previous books. Perhaps I read too much into that storyline. And the cliffhanger at the finale of Damien certainly prophesied great things for Jasmine but there was only the barest hint of what those great things would entail. The inter-species Library that was such a significant find??? It was a contrivance of limited necessity. Perhaps Jacquelyn Frank became so bogged down in all the minutiae and side plots in her series that she couldn't remember which needed to be resolved.
And, speaking of prophesies....talk about a build up leading to a dead end. The new Demons, those who would have the power to control and manipulate Time and Space and bring new hope to the Demon race, are still toddlers and we only got the barest hint of what Leah's power will be. Seth was non-existent. What was the point of introducing these side stories only to leave them hanging? Perhaps the author plans to pick up Seth and Leah's stories in a later series.
In the end, I felt that the author left Noah emasculated. There's a significant difference between showing us that this great and powerful Demon King is capable of certain vulnerabilities. It's another thing altogether to leave the reader with the sense that both he and his reign have been left weakened and fractured because he and his closest and strongest councilors have mated. My interpretation of the message of these books is that love/imprinting/mating/bonding; whatever name it's given, is a liability to the fortitude of these species."
