Good story, well told. Nice "What happened to Padme and Anakin Skywalker?" thread. Thought Typho got short shrift.
Quibble: Jax and Co. search all over Coruscant for a Compressed Energy Crystal for a lightsaber. Why didn't they use whatever source Ves Volette used to obtain them for his light sculptures?"
"This would have received a higher rating if it wasn't for the silly murder mystery sub plot. The parts of the story that continued from the first book in the series were just as good as the first. A great glimpse into the in between years of EP 3 and EP 4. I'm looking forward to the 3rd and last book and hope it finishes the series strong."
"The story was lame, the book took like 5 minutes to read. If Jax needed a crystal, and the murdered artist used them for his art (he couldn't do it without them) wouldn't it stand to reason that he would have some extras lying around? Jax, Den, and I-Five are usually characters that I enjoy (I must note that Den was severly under-used here), but the story was too simple and everything happened too easily."
"So little to say about this disappointing second round with Jax and Co. The book had several different plots going and I found it difficult caring about a single one. I wondered how Aurra Sing would continue to make a fool of herself more than the superfluous murder mystery itself. I mean Caamas is destroyed and they're doing a murder investigation of one dead Caamasi on Coruscant? In the Imperial Center headed by a Zabrak cop? It might have made a bit more sense if Caamas was destroyed after this mystery. And I would have thought the Emperor would have all humanoid cops at this point across his dominion. Guess he has a soft spot for Zabrak's.
And of course Aurra Sing does make a fool of herself in the end, right on cue."
