"Amy and Dan are continuing the race with Nellie- their au pair(babysitter/nanny). After Paris, they travelled to Vienna, Austria to find the next clue. The Holts give them trouble but once they're gone; Amy, Dan, and Nellie continued their search for the next clue. They figured out (in the first book) that RESOLUTION was and anagram for IRON SOLUTE. The second book led them to Venice, Italy. They stole the pages from Nerrels diary (Mozart's sister)but had a little incident with them. Luckily they got them back. The next clue was tungasen. The Cahills got samuri swords made out of that metal which is leading them to Tokyo, Japan. I would recommend this book to anyone who read the first book and wants more adventure!"
"I didn't realize that each 39 Clues book was going to be written by a different author. I'm particularly excited about number 4, which will be written by the recent winner of the YA National Book Award (review to follow). This one was great, despite my initial confusion. Dan and Amy are on the case for the second clue, which leads them to Vienna, Salzburg, and Venice. There's lots of historical information, which I love, and action, which I also love. This series is definitely living up to my high expectations. I can't wait until the next one comes out in March!"
"Amy and Dan Cahill are at it again! Dragging their au pair, Nellie Gomez, with them, Dan, Amy and Saladin venture off to Vienna, Austria. Once there, they look up the whereabouts of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birthplace. Another exciting adventure, this time with even more dangeorus danger and dramatic drama than before. The Holts, the Kabras, and the Starlings are still trying to kill the Cahills (along with Nellie) while Alistair Oh and Irina Spavsky are merely trying to injure them enough to put them out of the competition. Ned, Ted, and Sinead (the Starling triplets) end up in a deadly accident aimed to kill the Cahills, and are placed in the hospital. They are eliminated from the contest, seeing as their recovery will take about a year. Amy realizes that Wolgang Amadeus Mozart had a sister, Maria Anna Mozart. She finds out more information about Maria Anna, nicknamed Nannerl, and figures out that the clue is in her diary. She finds the diary (after sneaking into Jonah Wizard's hotel suite), but realizes that at least three pages have been torn out. Amy and Dan follow Jonah and his dad to a music store, Disco Volante, where Nellie distracts the cashier by becoming a kleptomaniac. Dan and Amy run in the store and find a secret passage. They go inside and find the Janus headquarters. Once there, they steal the diary pages from Jonah Wizard and escape. Being chased by a team of Janus, they stash the diary pages in the waterproof seat-cushion of a boat nearby, The Royal Saladin. Suddenly, their tiny motorboat is overtaken by a mammoth yacht, containing the Kabras. The Kabras shoot them with a dart gun and search them. Finding nothing, they throw them back in the sewer, and Dan and Amy go back for the pages. But The Royal Saladin is gone! Dan and Amy wait for hours, not knowing what else to do. Finally the tiny boat comes back, hosting a wedding on its dock. Dan and Amy wait for the wedding party to go inside the chapel, and then Dan snatches the pages. In this novel, Nellie's crazy side begins to show, and Saladin unleashes his inner tiger. A much more exciting and adventurous book than the prequel, if I may say so."
