About this title: At a New England boarding school, a sex scandal is about to break. Even more shocking is the fact that the sex acts were caught on videotape. Writing with a pace and intensity surpassing even her own greatest work, Shreve delivers a gripping emotional drama with the impact of a thriller.

"I've been a fan of Anita Shreve from the first book I read and I grab each new novel with the same anticipation of being swept away. This novel is no exception. She shocks as she spins her tale that sounds so authentic that parents will hold their collective breath when they have to send their kids off to college. A nice blend of nail biting suspense and pathos. I highly recommend it."
"The first chapter sure got my attention! I didn't want to get out of my car this morning when I got to school,I wanted to keep listening!!
The book was very interesting with a twist I never saw coming toward the end. The author uses different narrators for the many characters in the book. I am not sure how the book is written, but the audio format breaks up the characters into chapters with each chapter a different character telling their version of the story. Some characters you initially fall in love with and sympathize with others you want to shake them and scream what is wrong with them!!! Warning, if you like the book the end is a tear jerker.
The only complaint I have about this book is the wordiness of it. The author writes with so much detail as in "She walked down the sidewalk that was rippled with cracks that had many overgrown weeds of a dark green color growing out of them, some of the cracks were large enough to fall in and some small enough to trip over." Like I said, I don't need to know everything. If I were to physically read this novel, I would have probably been able to read it in 3 hours and breeze over the wordy details"
"I bought this book yesterday morning and finished this morning. It is the best Shreve has written since Sea Glass - the first book I read by her - and is still my favorite.
This book deals with teenage use of sex and alcohol in a private school in Vermont and how this incident changes everyone involved - even if just by attending the school or living in the town.
Shreve put in a few twists that did surprise.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Picoult -"
