"I got this book awhile ago as a gift but had never really looked through it until now.
Chinese astrology is fun and amusing, but personally I've never been able to take it too seriously. Maybe there's more to it then the little paragraph you find on the laminated placemat at the local Chinese restaurant, but if so it certainly not apparent in this book. I learned nothing more about being a pig then what I could have learned from the placemat.
Furthermore, this book is written from a very subjective place, so much so that the authors objectivity could be compromised because of the personal relationships she has with the individual examples she uses in the book. This book also just reinforces the gender binary but presenting stereotypical gendered he and her astrological descriptions. I find that irritating since I don't believe you can attribute character based on a person gender or sex. If I had noticed nothing else about this book, this single factor would have still ruined it for me."
