Black cloth with gilt titles and decorations to spine and gilt motif of fishing boat to front cover. Gilt top to text block edge, rest of text block rough cut pages. End papers foxed and browned and a little foxing in text. Covers rubbed marked and faded. Corners bumped. Binding firm. Good condition is defined as: a copy that has been read but remains in clean condition. All of the pages are intact and the cover is intact and the spine may show signs of wear. The book may have minor marking.
Fair. Minor rubbing to the edges of the pages. There is considerable foxing to the closed edge of pages, and the opening and closing pages. Would make a good reading copy. Acceptable: a readable copy. All pages and the cover are intact (dust cover may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes (in pen or highlighter) but notes cannot obscure the text. Most items will be dispatched the same or the next working day.
This little book is packed with verse which has a maritime theme. Mostly, these works which were drawn from a body of verse published in a prominant Australian magazine during the 1990's have a "rollicking" feeling to them and truly do put the reader "aboard ship"
As a personal friend of Australia's bard Henry Lawson, E J Brady was no stranger to well written and evocative works and this collection will take the reader across most of the worlds oceans
