About this title: Famed Charles Manson prosecutor and three-time #1 New York Times bestselling author Vincent Bugliosi has written the most powerful, explosive, and thought-provoking book of his storied career. In The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder, Bugliosi presents a tight, meticulously researched legal case that puts George W. Bush on trial in an American courtroom for the murder of nearly 4,000 American soldiers fighting the war in Iraq. Bugliosi sets forth the legal architecture and incontrovertible evidence that President Bush took this nation to war in Iraq under false pretenses-a war that ...

"I've read Bugliosi's work before; "Helter Skelter" & "Outrage." He's not the finest writer you will ever read. His prose is very reminiscent of a prosecutor's presentation to a jury. But he is very effective in making points and backing them up. What's a little surprising is that he says he's always been a Republican. This is not a hatchet job of some Democrat making political hay. He presents an argument to the public that our presidents should be responsible for what they do just as any CEO of any corporation. He makes a distinction between what George W. Bush did and what some corporate executive did by pointing out that corporate executives don't have people killed. Their mistakes cost money and they are usually mistakes in judgment or failure to predict a market trend. Bush went far beyond that and, according to the evidence Bugliosi presents, lied to the public and ignored information that was not in keeping with what he wanted. Then after eight years, billions of dollars, and thousands of lives, he goes home to his ranch, does nothing and lives better than most people in this country without the slightest accounting for what he's done. As a country, we should be asking if this is what we expect from out president. And Bugliosi does a remarkable job of framing that question.Bugliosi has more references than most text books. He makes no statements without quoting sources, giving dates, and any other relevant particulars to check for yourself. Even if you are a Bush supporter, you should at least take a look at the evidence. We need to ask ourselves why we have such widly varying standards when it comes to presidents. Why should Nixon have been impeached for a break-in and Clinton nearly so for voluntary sex between consenting adults, but someone who lies to start a war gets to walk away without a word."
"3 1/2 stars. A prosecutor (of Charles Manson among others) and author of Helter Skelter as well as other true crimes books, discusses his reasons for believing President George W. Bush should be prosecuted for murder, for starting an unnecessary war that has cost thousands of American's lives, by lying to America. Bush is portrayed to be not only stupid but extremely uncaring and slimy. Interesting, and a lot of it makes sense, but very heavy on the sarcasm, a bit rabid and over the top. He often belabors the points he is making and the book could have used some judicious editing. Most disappointing, though, is that Bugliosi has no solutions for how we get America back on track. A worthwhile read."
"This book has been very interesting. It is very well written and focuses on all of the reasons why the President could/should be prosecuted. I recommend it anyone that is interested (+or-) in George Bush, the two wars going on today, and whether the Iraq war was justified or not."
"Well, I gave Bugliosi another try after my unsatisfying expereince with his JFK assassination book. Like that book, this one suffered from several major flaws: 1) Bugliosi is so self-aggrandizing as to be almost unreadable 2) he argues from his theories rather than to his theories- in other words he fails to build a logical argument in many cases as he is so enamored of his opinion that he starts withe the assumption no other theory is vaible. While I give him credit for the effort, the book was waekly reasoned and not well researched. AS a lawyer and a citizen who is appallled at what G.W. Bush has done to our country I should have been an easy sell, but I actually gave up in disgust before I slogged to the bitter end."
