"Very cute, light-hearted chick lit. Story of a Boston lawyer who goes back to her hometown in Texas to help with her mother's divorce and run the local debutante ball all while under the pressure of fulfilling the expectations of her wealthy family."
"I really enjoyed this book. I felt a kinship with the main character Carlisle. She is a lot like me. Instead of facing the problems, especially when it comes to a guy, she ran. I do that so much I wonder if all see of me is my back. I don't stick around long enough. Of course Jack was gorgeous and wondered what a man like that in real life would do to a girl. Plus he was a bad boy and boy! Do I love bad boys:) All the characters had complexity and it was nice to see them all work together in the end."
"I enjoyed this book but not as much as I thought I would. There were some funny parts and predictable parts. I'm not really sure what I expected honestly. That's why I still gave it 4 stars. I had a hard time relating to the character simply because I don't know anyone that lived even remotely like her family, or anyone else in the book for that matter. I've read other books and not had a hard time with that but for some reason I had a hard time with this one in that regard. I was also disappointed that there wasn't more of Jack in the story. I felt that there needed to be more run-ins with him. More could be revealed about how he was feeling. Otherwise, the story was fun."
"This is the cutest book, I really enjoyed reading it. It was recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad she did! I especially loved the dialogue, it's so true to the area and really gave you a feel for each character. I'm looking forward finding another one by her."
