About this title: A satisfying tale of honor, chance, and star-crossed love, infused with Southern wit, grace, and charm, from the "New York Times" bestselling author Dorothea Benton Frank. After twenty years, Elizabeth "Betts" McGee has finally managed to put her past behind her. She hasn't been home to beautiful South Carolina and untouched Bulls Island since the tragic night that ended her engagement to Charleston's golden boy, J.D. Langley. And why is that? Really, this is the story of two old Southern families. The Langley family has more money than the Morgan Stanley Bank. And they think they have more ...

"Frank is a light read. I can't say I fell in 'love' with her characters, but it was entertaining. At the end, I was skimming a bit and found the storyline hard to follow. I think she meant to have a twist, but it came out flat. Other than that, a book worthy of a light summer read....fast and brainless."
"This is another enjoyable story set in Charleston from Dorthea Benton Frank. Insulting comments and a horrible accident cause Betts McGee to break her engagement to the love of her life and run away from her family in Charleston to New York City. She makes a new life there until she is asked to return to SC to oversee the heavy financial investment of her company in Bull's Island, a development being built by her powerful and wealthy former fiancee. The story is fast-paced and funny with enough suspense to keep it from being too predictable."
"I read this book, which is quite out of what I usually read, based entirely on the title I admit. Bulls Island is "home" and the author did a wonderful job of bringing that precious place, the people, and the culture to life in the pages of this story. The story itself is interesting and beautifully told with rich characterizations and a fully developed plot.
I enjoyed the story very much, and recommend it to lovers of women's lit, and romance."
"I love all of Dorothea's books and this one was no exception. They are all based on the Charleston SC area - fun reads - very entertaining. I highly recommend all of her books."
