"The Dynamic Learning series, which includes a series of "How To" books for the Adobe CS3 (now CS4) software was an expensive book that brought much less than I had anticipated and hoped for.
If you want to learn how to do something in Photoshop and that's it...this book is great. BUT, if you wan to learn how to do something in Photoshop, know why you did it that way, and what the tools you are using "mean" or can do, move on.
At $44.99, I expected a much more in-depth explanation on tasks, rather than "1) Choose File > New...2) Choose Default Photoshop Size from the Preset drop-down menu. 3) If the layers pallette is not visible, choose Window > Layers. Click on the Layers tab and drag it out...Select the rectangular marquee tool and click and drag to contrain the marquee selection to a square"...yadda yadda yadda.
On and on, monotonous instructions step-by-step on how to do tasks with no meaning behind them. Keep looking for another book, I just don't think it is worth the price."
