Ken Follett is a great writer. His two books, "The Pillars of the Earth" and "World Without End" are fascinating in that he provides clear images of what life was like in the Middle Ages.

plague, murder, sex, you name it, it is all in this very long book. it held my interest but some of the sex in it seemed a little unreal for the time.
