When the Civil War event swept through the Marvel Universe, each and every title help to expand and expound the storyline; in addition, there were single issue Civil War cast-off stories and asides. Needless to say, if you weren't reading all of the titles, you were missing out on quite a bit. Within the three Captain America issues collected herein, along with the Civil War-era Winter Soldier one-shot, Ed Brubaker does his best to keep both the individual Cap story moving along, while also moving the CW story along. But the CW story was just so massive and bloated and all-affecting, that these issues almost fall flat when taken away from the rest of the overall arc."
