"Not life-changing, not thought-provoking, but definitely an entertaining page-turner, and that keeps me coming back for more. Kind of annoying how each book ends on a ridiculous cliff-hanger, but it's nice that I had the third book (Faefever) on hand from the library so not a problem for me. Some of the plot twists are fairly obvious, but still fun to read along. The book does indulge in that very annoying device to enhance mystery and keep the plot moving along: no one gives the protagonist a straight answer. What saves the book is that the protagonist becomes equally annoyed with the constant evasion. Fun chemistry between Mac & Barrons.
Interesting that the library shelves this under "romance" - I'd be more inclined to shelve it as a mystery or paranormal first, romance second or third."
"I fell in love with with DarkFever and BloodFever made my love of the series concrete.
I was so moved by the beach scene with Alina and Mac, I was bawling. Knowing what it is to lose someone without being able to say goodbye and wishing for just one more day...it really spoke to my grief. Karen must have lost someone very close for her to write that scene and it was so beautiful and true.
The ending had me on the edge of my seat. The chemisty and lust between JB and Mac has me so frustrated. He is such an intriguing character I cannot wait to find out what he actually is. And I purchased FaeFever to my kindle before I even finished BloodFever so that I didn't have to "wait" for it.
I am so excited for DreamFever and sinking my teeth in Faefever right now."
"I think this book was even better than the first. I know it might sound overused, but reading it felt like a rollercoaster. One moment things were fine, the next it's just a mess, and then the next moment everything was back to normal. It was so pivotal, and I loved the suspense and the thrill of reading it. I love Mac's character. She's strong, independent, and, well, doesn't allow herself to be owned or manipulated by anyone. -And the dad. Parents are so often discounted in books, but this book did a nice job of resolving the conflict. Questions were answered in this book, but there were even more questions by the time the book ended. I'm glad I discovered the book late or I would've grown impatient in waiting for the third.
The title. I would've went for one with more meaning and subtlety, not something that straight out says "blood fever", but I guess the titles don't really matter. Its really the content.
Some parts I could predict, or have the same assumptions as Mac. Some parts I have some oh's and some ah's because the author is just brilliant. There are also some bits and dialogues that I love, like the "No is never maybe" bit. haha.
I'd say this book was better and more addictive than the first. lol. I'll give it a 4/5 stars."
"My dad gave this book to me when he coulden't make it through the first page. Hes right it's more my thing than his. However it is not a great book. The plot is gripping but it is part two of siris so the main thread of plot dose not conculde in this book. It left me hanging and wanting more but reluctant to start the next one knowing that it would be much the same.
Also the main charictor isen't very admerable. She likes pink and sunbathing. She whines a lot when in fact she is a lot better off than she seems to think. Every once in awhile she shows a glimmer of somthing that might be smarts or humanity and then soon after you realize it was nothing, because shes back to acting stupid and self involved.
Still its well writen and I love the dark and wierd world that the author invented. I just wish that I could explore it with a chrictor that I liked better."
