"Great book for helping to get the juices flowing with small business advertising. There are several tips that I have incorporated that have helped but many more that have "come to me" while I was reading and thinking about marketing and what else to do.
It is about marketing harder and smarter -- not just spending more than the next guy. I've found that if you don't make marketing a conscious part of your business, you are doomed to a mediocre growth at best."
"I whole heartedly attempted to read this book for my job. In fact, I read it at my job when things were a little slow, but I still couldn't finish it. If I can't finish reading a book when I'm getting paid to do so, then something is wrong. I just finished reading a few other reviews, and others admitted to not finishing the book either. How can you give a book three or four stars when not only did you not finish it, but hoards of others didn't either? Don't let the book convince you that it's brilliant and you're just too ignorant to understand it. It's the book's problem, not yours.
Mainly, this book makes too many references to other books in the series and implies that I must buy them all, which I found irritating. The book also insinuated that following its claims, and the strategies in the million other books in the series, will make you rich and famous; I remain skeptical of any such claim from anyone. "Get rich quick books" really aren't for me, I guess. Although the informal tone contributed to the book's readability, I strangely felt talked down to."
"This is a very good book about marketing on a budget. He has an easy style of reading with intersting stories to illustrate his points. Of course I haven't finished it. This points more to my personality than to the quality of the book.
I have decided not to finish it until i really have to. I'm not really into marketing at the moment, and so the desire to finish it is not there. But for anyone looking to market a product with very little money, it is a fantastic book."
